We are a small yet steadily growing number of energetic young people who care about people and want to build a network of friends through genuine friendship. Our focus is helping those who just came to Austin to adapt to their new environment by being good friends, starting with picking up incoming students at the airport, showing them what Austin is all about, and guide them all the way through graduation. We provide all this for free, true friendship is our reward.

Living in a different country by yourself is tough, from culture shock, different food, different climate, different friends, and so many more new things to adapt to. We know all this because we were those people at one point in our life. Most of us were international students once and we've been through the same experience. We are here to help, we'll be your friend through the good time and the bad time all the way through your graduation and for life if you let us.

Even though our focus is mainly directed towards incoming students, it is not limited to just that. We are open to anyone regardless of age, sex, religion, race or nationality. Many of our friends have come and gone and yet they still keep in contact with us. This has resulted in many lifelong friendships, which is rare to find in this day and age.

Quick facts about Austin:

Chartered in 1839 as the capital of the Republic of Texas, Austin became the state capital when Texas was admitted to the Union in 1846 as the twenty-eighth state. Austin is now the fourth largest city in the state and the sixteenth most populous city in the nation.

Population: Roughly about 800,000 people with about 1.5 million people communting for work from the cities nearby.

Austin, with its world renowned University of Texas-Austin, is a famous detination for young international scholars aiming towards college degrees. The city is small enough to provide good education without too much temptations, yet big enough that you can find just about anything you'll find in a big city. Located on a hilly landscape with mountains and lakes, its scenery is something to talk about. The city is heavily invested by high tech companies such as Intel, IBM, AMD, Freescale, National Instruments, and many other companies providing UT graduates with ample jobs. Austin is also blessed with a high restaurant/capita ratio. This means the number of restaurants per person is quite high compared to other cities. It is filled with all kinds of restaurants ranging from southern style, BBQ, chinese, japanese, korean, middleeastern, indian, and many others.
